Frequently Asked Questions
SAROS was made available on November 24th. Didn't receive your pre-order? Please email us! (contact@eclipsedsounds.com)
Up to a point, SAROS' development was just about the same as SOLARIA & ASTERIAN's - the only difference was that SAROS was announced to the public much earlier in development than our previous vocals. However, SAROS became delayed in late summer 2023 due to additional work being done to add support for the Spanish language.
In the current version, SAROS' comfortable vocal range is B2-C5. Ranges for each vocal mode can be found on their info article.
Yes! By purchasing SAROS, you gain a license that allows you to use their voice commercially. These vocals can either be attributed to "SAROS" or left unattributed. This license extends to physical music releases, streaming services, and online sales. You will be able to review SAROS' full license agreement soon.
Having a character to represent the vocal is a tradition in vocal synthesis spaces going back over a dozen years, and we wanted to continue on with that. Additionally, having an associated image of a person makes it more immediately clear that the software is a virtual singer, and gives some idea as to what the voice might sound like before even listening. SAROS' character is also free to use commercially once you purchase the voice database.
SAROS' 10 vocal modes are Bright, Dark, Falsetto, Feminine, Full, Gentle, Passionate, Power, Resounding, & Soft.
SAROS may have been recorded primarily in English & Spanish, but the Synthesizer V Studio Pro editor allows AI voices like them to sing in Japanese, Mandarin, and Cantonese as well! This feature is limited to the paid version of Synthesizer V Studio, which can be purchased on the Dreamtonics store. Synthesizer V also allows users to edit note pronunciations based on individual vowel and consonant sounds, and so other languages similar in sound to English can be approximated by skilled users. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee quality of pronunciation in any other language, but we also provide some bonus materials with our voice libraries to make this approximation easier. Current bonus materials assist with approximation for German & Italian.
The only way to purchase a physical copy of SAROS is by purchasing it during their release period. There will be exactly 200 physical editions available for sale, and any leftovers will be sold at a later date. ASTERIAN's leftover physical editions will also be available during this time period. Physical editions are currently delayed and expected to ship after NAMM once our manufacturer-delayed items have arrived.
